My Books
Fix Tight Hip Flexors is an at home program I wrote myself. It’s $3.59 in the amazon kindle store. This book will take your through four key steps to ensure that you get rid of your tight hip flexors and keep them loose. The reasons may not be as simple as you think as this complex group of muscles does a lot of work in every day tasks. Bad posture, repetitive movements and weak muscles will also contribute to your issues. Included are key stretches to release the hip flexors. Self massage on important areas to get a deeper release. Exercises that will take your hip flexors through a dynamic range of motion and stretch them actively. Postural exercises that will retrain your body so your hip flexors aren’t working when they shouldn’t. Check it out here.
Start Smart is a great guide for beginners to get started in their own home. The truth is fitness doesn’t need to kill you to be effective. You need to build a consistent habit, eat correctly for your body and move more than you probably do, but the actual working out shouldn’t be sending you to the doctor’s office or making you vomit. You can get fantastic results from a small amount of smart work. If you have never lifted a weight or gone for a run before, this is the book for you. Grab it for under $3.59 on Amazon.
Tennis Ball Self Massage gives you a quick rundown on how to release your body with a tennis ball. If you can’t afford the Ultimate Self Massge Guide, this will teach you how to attack most muscles in your body. Although you won’t the the anatomy lessons and foam roller options, for 99 cents this is an absolute bargain.
Stuff I love
These are books or products that I own and swear by.
The Grid trigger point roller is my favourite foal roller. I own a green one and use it everyday. It’s firm thanks to the inner roller, with a small layer of foam. It is designed to be durable and withstand constant, heavy, and repeated use without breaking down. I love to travel with it, as it is hollow I can fit it in my suitcase much easier than a regular foam roller.
Lacrosse balls are a great option to use if you want a bit more pressure than a tennis ball. They are cheap and you can grab them off amazon. Works great for massaging out trigger points/muscle knots and does wonders for back pain.
The Black Foam Roller is a very high density foam roller that is inexpensive and will last you a long time. I had one of these before the trigger point roller and still own it and use it. The 12 inch length roller is long enough.
Flexible Fat Loss is the only nutrition book I will recommend. It teaches you a healthy lifestyle and how to have a good relationship with food. Not to mention the fat will fall off you while you can eat the foods you like. I personally recommend it, I bought it myself and follow it. Oh and it’s actually three books in one.
The Supplement Guide is the bible of supplements. It runs through objective research on each supplement and will ensure you know if you are wasting money or buying something useful. Not only that, it will take you through common ailments and goals to discover what will effectively help you. You can grab the full stack or find the book on the goal you need.
The Power of Habit is an enlightening book that really helped open my mind to changing habits and how to apply that to fitness and nutrition. If you are struggling to get out of a cycle, take a look at this.
