Here is an overview of the overuse injuries of the knee joint. There are many different things that can go wrong in your knee, both acute and chronic. Overuse injuries are painful and if not treated properly they can get very painful and debilitating. Referenced from Overuse Injuries of the Musculoskeletal System. We will hopefully cover every one of these issues on the blog. As I cover each one I will link back from this post. Big ugly names on some of them but we will decipher each of the injuries later on Laurens Fitness. I’ll separate the problems into different aspects of the knee.
Anterior Aspects
- Patellofemoral pain syndrome
- Jumper’s knee
- Osgood-Schlatter disease
- Sinding-Larsen-Johansson disease
- Stress fracture of the patella
- Fat pad syndrome/ Bursitis
Medial Aspect
- Plica syndrome
- Semimembranosus tendinitis
- Pes anserinus tendinitis/bursitis
- Breaststroker’s knee
- Medial retinaculitis
Lateral Aspect
- Iliotibial band friction syndrome
- Popliteal tendinitis
- Bicipital tendinitis
Posterior
- Fabellitis Gastrocnemius strain

So excited to see this article! Been suffering from Semimembranosus tendinitis (I think that’s what it is) for over a year and severely limiting me. Been to numerous “experts” and never get healed so will be anxiously watching this thread. Thanks for putting this together!
